In October 2000, Matthew Pulisic, PT, MS, OCS opened Richmond Physical Therapy Corporation and in 2005
we opened a second location in Ashland. We have a team of sixteen staff including six licensed physical
therapists and two athletic trainers. Our physical therapists specialize in treating orthopedic and sports-related
injuries, as well as various pediatric conditions. Our athletic trainers assist the physical therapists with the
rehabilitation programs and provide athletic training services to two local high schools, St. Christopher's and
Collegiate Schools. Our Ashland office also serves as the physical therapy provider for Randolph-Macon
College.
We take great pride in the work we do putting the patient first at all times. We offer both early morning and late
evening hours for appointments and will guarantee an appointment within the first 48 business hours of calling
our office. Emergency appointments are available when necessary. We have over 60 years of experience
and have developed excellent relationships with numerous local physicians. We pride ourselves in the fact that
we are able to attain very successful outcomes using evidence based treatment programs and have recently
been able to reduce the number of visits needed before discharge from our facility.
We are active in teaching. We have instructed many undergraduate students in preparation for physical
therapy school, as well as provided clinical internships annually for students in the School of Physical Therapy
at VCU. We are also active in the community working with local running groups and cycling clubs, coaching
sports and sponsoring local events. We also offer complimentary screening programs for athletes in order to
prevent injury.
Our staff is available to make your experience as pleasant as possible. We will work closely with you to make
