- Appointment Policy
All new patients will be offered a first appointment within two working days of contacting our offices. Emergency appointments made upon a physician's request will be honored. All efforts will be made to accommodate individuals with their appointment times. If you have questions, email scheduling@richmondpt.com. - Experienced Staff
Our physical therapists strive to be knowledgeable about the latest rehabilitative techniques. Our staff is proactive in taking continuing education courses, reviewing scientific journals, and applying their clinical expertise to provide each patient with individualized care.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our friendly caring staff members work to make your time with us smooth and comfortable as possible.
- Upon Arrival
Our office staff is ready to greet you and assist you with required paperwork, as well as provide you with your insurance coverage and obligations. Please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time in order to fill out the paperwork, or you can complete the forms in advance by referring to the Patient Forms page.Please be sure to bring your prescription from your physician and your insurance card with you. - Insurance
As a courtesy to you, our staff will call your insurance carrier to check on your policies and benefits. They will then let you know what your insurance responsibilities will be, such as co-payments or co-insurance/deductibles. For further information, please refer to the Insurance Page. - Length of Session
Please allow up to one hour for your initial visit and 45-60 minutes for follow-up appointments. At the time of the initial evaluation, your physical therapist will discuss the frequency of your follow-up visits. - Appropriate Attire
We recommend bringing or wearing comfortable clothing (i.e. shorts for knee patients and short sleeves or tank top for shoulder patient) and athletic shoes to your appointment. - Evaluation
After completing your check-in process, you will be introduced to your therapist and proceed to a treatment room. Your therapist will review your medical history, perform an evaluation of your current injury or diagnosis, and determine an individualized treatment plan. If needed, the therapist may then instruct you on a home exercise program. - Physician Update
Our staff is committed to communicating frequently with your physician regarding evaluation findings, treatment plans, and your progress. This allows for an interdisciplinary team approach to your care.
